"A mother's joy begins when new life is stirring inside...
when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time,
and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone."
We had a great maternity session with Tyler! The weather was turning cold and with some of the outfits she wanted to wear between photos her teeth were chattering, but as soon as the camera pointed at her she was ready for the photo. In a few shots I could even see the goosebumps on her arms if I zoomed in.
From maternity through newborn and even first birthdays, capturing your growing child in photos is something that will be treasured for years to come. If there's a specific shot you've seen that you're interested in creating, let us know.
TIPS FOR A GREAT MATERNITY PHOTO SESSION:
Prepare your poses
Think about any pose ideas you may want before your session. You will want to discuss these ideas with us so we can be prepared for what you want to do.
Come in at around seven months
Seven months is about the right time. You want your belly to be the primary focus, and this starts around 7 months, but you won't tire out as easily as you will if you wait until later. Be sure to schedule your session way in advance to ensure you don't miss this perfect time.
Include other family members
Mom, Dad, Grandma, the list goes on. A maternity shot could include four generations! Let's make keepsakes that all the family will enjoy.
Props make for a great session. Bringing nursery decorations or a stuffed animal or even shoes that you've purchased for your soon-to-be baby will make for a more interesting session.
Schedule your newborn session!
Since you already know your due date, be sure to schedule your first newborn session. The perfect times for these are either at around 5 to 7 days old or between 1 and 2 months. We understand that due dates are estimates, and will try to work with you for reschedules if things don't go as planned.
